September 30th – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada

The CPNB office will be closed on September 30th to commemorate the tragic legacy of residential schools in Canada. The CPNB Council encourages staff and members to learn about and reflect on a dark chapter in their country’s history and to commemorate the survivors, their families and their communities, as called for by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Indigenous leaders.

CPNB endorses the apology to Indigenous People and Pledge to be Anti-Racist issued by ACPRO (the Association of Canadian Psychology Regulators) An Apology to Indigenous People and a Pledge to Be Anti-Racist (acpro-aocrp.ca) .

CPNB asks that all members read the ACPRO apology and “Psychology’s Response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Report” written by the Canadian Psychological Association and the Psychology Foundation of Canada: TRC Task Force Report_FINAL.pdf (cpa.ca)
