THE DIRECTORY CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING REGISTRATION STATUS
Licensed member in New Brunswick:
These individuals hold full registration with the ability to practice psychology in the province under the College of Psychologists Act (2017).
Interim member:
These individuals have met the education and training requirements for registration and have the ability to practice psychology in the province of NB, under the supervision of a licensed member of the CPNB. While interim members, they must undergo supervision until completing the required period of supervised work experience and examinations. Interim members may use the designation interim member (or Resident in psychology) which clearly indicates their status.
Non-practicing member in New Brunswick:
Individuals with this status designation are not registered for active practice in the province of New Brunswick. A licensed or interim member who will not be practicing psychology in New Brunswick, and is in good standing with CPNB, may change his or her status to a non-practicing member. Upon written request to the Registration Committee, the member may have their active license reinstated at a later time.
Non-practicing member (retired) in New Brunswick:
Individuals with this status designation are not registered for active practice in New Brunswick but wish to remain on the register and maintain use of their registration credential while simultaneously clarifying their retired status.
Student member:
Student membership may be granted to applicants enrolled at an accredited university or its equivalent, in a full time program of graduate studies in psychology.
Fellow of CPNB:
These individuals have been voted by unanimous vote of Council, in recognition of their significant contribution to professional psychology in New Brunswick.
Temporary:
Individuals with this status designation are registered for active practice on a temporary basis. Such registration is based on their registration as a psychologist in another jurisdiction remaining in good standing. This registration may be used by those who are waiting to complete the registration process in New Brunswick.
Courtesy:
Individuals with this status designation are registered for active practice on a temporary basis. Such registration is based on their registration as a psychologist in another jurisdiction remaining in good standing. This registration may be used by those who will only be temporarily practicing in New Brunswick (maximum of 21 days).
