The course is intended for professionals working in various child rights fields around the world. It will examine both situations where children and youth are deprived of their liberty, as well as their right to a separate system of criminal justice. The course will invite participants to reflect upon and contribute to research efforts concerning the new Global Study on the conditions of children deprived of liberty, announced in December 2014 by the United Nations General Assembly. The course will also cover best practices from around the world regarding the implementation of the child’s right to a criminal justice system adapted to their situation and level of maturity. This course is a unique opportunity for networking. Experts recognized in the field have already confirmed their participation. In addition, participants will benefit from high quality professional development.
